God bless the New Museum’s tantalizing triennial. The Generational: Younger Than Jesus, is made up of 50 artists born after 1976 (and are therefore under 33, Christ’s age at his death) from twenty-five countries. Expect slacker themes, lots of blipping and bleeping and video-game references, but also a chunk of somber, enlightening meditations on our economic and environmental future.

Dan Deacon’s latest disc, the lengthy, intermittently enthralling Bromst, moves at will from the sprightly to the oblique. The record’s most memorable tracks would function equally well on both Eyes and Feet Nights. Bromst finds him edging toward a kind of transcendental party music, as heady as it is infectious.
